Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to SIMANTECH Journal of Science and Technology undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of the published work.

1. Initial Screening

  • Upon submission, each manuscript is reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated editor to assess its suitability, originality, and adherence to journal guidelines.

  • Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements or fall outside the journal’s scope may be rejected without further review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

  • Manuscripts passing the initial screening are sent to two or more independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

  • The identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.

  • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

    • Relevance to the journal's scope

    • Originality and novelty of the research

    • Methodological soundness

    • Clarity of presentation

    • Validity of data and conclusions

    • Appropriateness of references

3. Review Outcome

Based on reviewers' recommendations, the editor will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept – the manuscript is suitable for publication as is.

  • Minor Revisions – the manuscript requires small changes before acceptance.

  • Major Revisions – substantial changes are required; a revised version must be resubmitted for review.

  • Reject – the manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal.

4. Revision and Resubmission

  • Authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscript based on reviewer comments.

  • Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the specified time frame and should include a response letter detailing changes made.

  • In the case of major revisions, the revised manuscript may be re-evaluated by the same or new reviewers.

5. Final Decision and Publication

  • The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision on acceptance based on the reviewers' feedback and editorial assessment.

  • Accepted manuscripts will proceed to copyediting, layout, and publication in the upcoming issue.

6. Review Timeline

  • The typical turnaround time from submission to first decision is 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and responsiveness.

  • Authors will be notified promptly of the review status and editorial decisions.
